Horseback Riding

In Santa Catarina there are fantastic horseback riding options on the coast and inland. It was in the Santa Catarina Mountains, in the 80s, that the first Brazilian farm hotels emerged, paving the way for the development of rural tourism throughout the entire country. Some of the best tours leave from these hotels, some that last up to seven days in totally wild, high altitude grasslands, as well as shorter itineraries, highlighted by visits to rural Coxilha, in Lages. Two large cavalcades draw attention in the state: the Aparados da Serra Cavalcade, which leaves from Bom Jardim da Serra and goes towards Rio Grande do Sul, and the Tropeira Cavalcade, which goes from Lages to Tubarão. Other regions of the state also offer great places to practice the activity, always in the midst of beautiful scenery.
