Fraiburgo

Fraiburgo is known as the Terra da Maçã (Land of the Apple). With almost seven million apple trees planted on the region’s rural properties, the town is one of the largest national producers of the fruit. There are, however, other attractions that are worth visiting, such as the Castelinho and the Hotel Renar, Normandy (northeastern region of France) and alpine style buildings, as well as museums, adventure parks, preservation areas, grottos and religious sanctuaries.

Casa da Cultura Lydia Frey

Jagunço Museum

Other Historical European Heritage


Castelinho
A building inspired by the architecture in the Normandy region (northeast France), it was built at the start of the 1960s to satisfy the whim of the wife of the French agronomist, Roger Biau (responsible for developing the region’s apple culture). The site is not open for visits, since it is still a residence.

Hotel Renar
Built in an alpine style at the top of a smile mountain, it has a pool, sauna, game room, athletic courts and a helipad. It has a beautiful view of the entire city.

Lebon Régis


The main attractions of Lebon Régis are a result of the Contestado War. The town was the stage for the conflict’s most bloody battles, which are recorded at the Capitel São João Maria and the Contestado Cemetary, located in the community of Perdizinhas. There are also natural attractions, such as the Cachoeira do Rio dos Patos (Rio dos Patos Waterfall) 3 km from the Center.

Santa Cecília


Santa Cecília’s best-known attraction is the Autódromo Aldo Leal Tramontini (Parque de Exposições), which hosts Campeonato Catarinense de Automobilismo (Santa Catarina Motor Racing Championship) races. Another highlight is the Estátua do Gaúcho de Lata (Tin Gaúcho Statue), a steel sculpture that honors the drovers who founded the village. Its main event is the Festa da Madeira (Wood Festival), celebrated in November.
