Guaraciaba

The great attraction of Guaraciaba lies in the five rivers which run across the municipality: Peperiguaçu, das Antas, das Flores, Maria Preta and Índio. Fishing and bathing are activities which entertain the tourists who visit the region. Other attractions are the Museu Histórico Prof. Edvino Carlos Hölscher (Prof. Edvino Carlos Hölscher Historical Museum), one of the largest in Brazil in the rural area, and the Santuário de Nossa Senhora de Caravaggio (Sanctuary of Our Lady of Caravaggio), which attracts thousands of followers during the pilgrimage held in May.

Museu Histórico Prof. Edvino Carlos Hölscher

It preserves artifacts of the natives who inhabited the region, besides objects, photos and utensils which tell the history of the colonization and development of the municipality, totaling more than 7 thousand items. Monday thru Friday, from 7:30am to 11:30am and from 1:30pm to 5:30am.

Barra Bonita


Colonized by descendants of Italians and Germans coming from Rio Grande do Sul, Barra Bonita is a haunt of enthusiasts of radical sports. The wild nature of the region is an invitation for motorcycle and jeep off-road rides, trekking, mountain biking and hang gliding flights. In the Rio das Antas (Antas River), canoeing is a good option.
