Itá

Founded by gaucho migrants, the old city of Itá was flooded for the construction of the Itá Hydroelectric Power Plant. In 1996, the new city was inaugurated to receive its residents. The reconstruction of the town, surrounded by mountains and native forests, presented an opportunity to create new tourist attractions, such as the hot springs parks and the power plant’s actual lake.
