Mondaí

Colonized by Germans, Mondaí is bathed by three rivers: Uruguai, das Antas and Laju. The municipality port is one of the old means of access to Rio Grande do Sul. The main attractions for tourists are the boat trips, fishing and Festa da Fruta (Fruit Festival).

Casa da Cultura
It keeps photographs, documents and objects which relate the history of the building and development of the town, besides native artifacts. It also has rooms for conventions and meetings, art rooms, a place for gymnastics and a library. Monday thru Friday, from 7:45am to 11:45am and from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. Rua do Porto, 279, Uruguai. Typical Festivities


Festa da Fruta
Exhibitions, shows, “Colonial Breakfasts”, lunches and dinners are held during the five days of the festival. In June, in the Parque de Exposições (Exhibition Park), next to the Área de Lazer (Leisure Area).

Rivers and river islands
The rivers of Mondaí are abundant in several fish species (grumatã, minnow, mandi, catfish, bocudo, piava, surubim, jundiá, traíra and bream). The scenery formed by the small islands spread throughout the rivers das Antas and Uruguai are a spectacle in their own right. The Ilha da Foz do Rio das Antas (Island of the Falls of the River das Antas), the Ilha da Foz do Rio Taipas (Island of the Falls of the River Taipas), the Arquipélago da Linha Ervas (Archipelago of the Island of the Falls of Line Herbs), and the Ilha do Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf Island) stand out.

Leisure Area
A green area bathed by the Rio das Antas and Rio Uruguai, it has several leisure options, including places for bathing and fishing, ramps for boats, motocross track, parks, soccer pitches and volleyball courts, besides an area for camping and restrooms with an electric shower. Situated at the entrance of the town.
