Penha

Penha was one of the first locations in Santa Catarina to be settled by the Azorean colonists. The economy, initially based on fishing and mariculture (the town is one largest producers of shellfish in the state), gave way to tourism, mainly after the Parque Beto Carrero World was established in the region. Every year, more than 1 million people visit this amusement park, which is the largest in Latin America, with more than 100 rides and attractions. But there are other tourist options in Penha, such as beaches and adventure sports that can be practiced at various locations in the town.
