Colonized by Italian, Austrian, German, Polish and Russian immigrants, Rio dos Cedros is one of the most beautiful retreats of the Vale Europeu. The municipality is situated at 1,000 m above sea level, in a majestic scenario formed of mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls of up to 30 m in height. Nature favors ecotourism, highlighting rappel and free flight. The Festa Trentina (Trento Festival), in September, is the ideal moment to visit the town and enjoy the full table, folkloric dance and music, celebrating the culture of the immigrants with hundreds of Italian descendants coming from the neighboring towns. Another attraction is the wicker and osier handicraft, whose items can be found mainly in the locality of Milan River.

Indian’s Grotto Waterfall
More than 35 m of free fall, good for rappel. It is almost at the limit with Rio Negrinho (Black River), in the locality of Alta Pedra Preta (High Black Stone), at 50 km from the Center.

Trekking to the waterfall with 40 m and natural swimming pools. In Palmeiras.
Rafting and Canoeing
Beautiful River Lake
Situated at 600 m of altitude, it is 9 km long. A good option for trips by launch, kayak, canoe or jet ski. Alto Palmeiras community, at 25 km from the Center.
Pinhal Lake
It is at 800 m of altitude, in an extremely beautiful region with more than 78 waterfalls. It is 14 km long with islands and peninsulas. It is possible to hire a kayak, launch or jet ski in the place. In Alto Cedros, at 37 km from the Center.
