Sombrio

The natural attractions and shopping tourism are Sombrio’s main highlights. The town has footwear, ceramic, furniture and food industries, as well as quality handicrafts. You must visit the Calçadão Cultural (Cultural Boardwalk) and the Igreja Matriz Santo Antônio de Pádua (Santo Antônio de Pádua Parish Church) in the town’s Center, where you can see traces of Azorean and Portuguese colonization, prominent cultures in the region. Also, do not miss the chance to venture out onto the Lagoa do Sombrio (Sombrio Lake) – the state’s larges freshwater lake – the Morro da Moça (Moça Hill) and the Furnas de Sombrio (Sombrio Caves) complex, a set of four grottos located along BR-101.
