Urussanga

Urussanga is one of the most authentic strongholds of Italian colonization in Santa Catarina. The town, founded in 1878, is the town with the most structures included in the National Immigration Routes project of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN). They are historical houses and churches, museums, and even rural properties where the Italian influence is present in the smallest details. The city has numerous cantinas and vineyards open to visitation, amid trellised vines that cover valleys and other landscapes of great beauty. Take advantage of your visit to buy colonial products, artisanal wines, and quality handicrafts. Good opportunities for this are the Wine Festival and the Rittorno alle Origini Festival, which celebrates the anniversary of the founding of the Colonial Nucleus of Urussanga.
